DREAM BIG
Mental and behavioral health is the largest unmet health need for children and teens in foster care.
Comfort Drops
The Precious Dreams Foundation's Comfort Drop program focuses on addressing the impact of trauma, promoting resilience, preventing long-term consequences, and fostering self-care and well-being among youth impacted by trauma or living in uncertainty.
What is a comfort drop?
The Comfort Drop is a trauma-informed intervention designed to support emotional regulation, self-soothing, and psychological safety for children and young adults experiencing foster care and housing instability. By providing a comfort bag and personalized gifts, we help youth build the internal tools needed to navigate their current experiences. Each comfort bag includes the personal delivery of age-appropriate items—such as plush companions, weighted or soft blankets, pillows, reflective journals, books and more.

Our Approach to Healing

ART THERAPY
Young adults engage in art activities that serve as a powerful outlet for expressing their traumas and emotions. Through these creative endeavors, they find a healthy space for reflection and healing. The artwork they produce becomes a source of inspiration and positive energy, adorning the temporary facilities they reside in, motivating them to stay on track toward their brighter futures.

Yoga & Meditation
Youth learn to manage stress through healthy movement, meditation, and relaxation. Breathing techniques are shared to provide additional support in navigating impulsive behavior or distracting living environments.

CURBSIDE DELIVERIES
Contactless deliveries provide continued support for agencies and shelters that suspended in-house programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bags are delivered to provide comfort items and help youth cope with daily stress and increased isolation.

THERAPEUTIC JOURNALING
Journaling inspires teens to think through their emotions and use their words as a healthy coping mechanism. Writing prompts are provided to help participants release stress and practice thinking positively of their past, present, and future selves.

INSPIRING SPEAKERS
Successful inspiring speakers deliver testimonies about how to self-comfort and persevere while facing adversity. Our guest speakers are carefully selected and many share relatable experiences of being in foster care or experiencing homelessness in their childhood.

PILLOWCASE DECORATING
Pillowcase decorating inspires children to acknowledge people, places and things that makes them feel good and illustrate those forms of comfort on a pillowcase. These nightly reminders induce positive thoughts at bedtime so children may relax and experience better dreams.
